Fancy AF Brunch

I recently had the pleasure of having brunch at the famous Tavern on the Green. I have always heard about this place but never thought of actually going. I was u fee the impression that it was ridiculously priced and for the rich and snooty. However, I was invited and was pleasantly surprised. It is located inside Central Park, extremely easy to find. The place was magical. There was a man with a top hat at the front door. We had reservations, but we’re still asked to sit in the bar/lounge area. Which I was very happy to do since it was a gorgeous area with chandeliers and a very old school 1930”s vibe to it. I ordered a Bloody Mary and took in the scenery. I like to people watch, especially in NYC. There were quite a few tourists which was not a surprise. Also, a lot of families with younger children. We were then seated to the main dining area that was a big difference from the bar/lounge area. It was brighter and my eyes had to adjust. It felt like I just walked into heaven. The service was amazing. Our waiter was extremely cool and down to earth. He gave us recommendations and says their burger was the best. However I already peeped the menu before arriving and had my heart set on steak and eggs. My typical brunch go to. For appetizer we had shrimp cocktail that were huge. The steak was amazing and cooked a perfect medium. Instead of dessert we got more drinks. The bloody Mary’s were amazing(spicy and with a few olives). The dining area is open and has windows with a view to the park. Horse and carriages were strolling by as we are. I couldent help but think how gorgeous this place would be

Christmas time.

Before I left I had to check out the gift shop. Because I’m still a child. I got the cutest Christmas ornament with the famous sheep on it. Tavern on the Green started as a sheep barn back in the 19th century.

‘‘Tis the Season For Gifting

Now that Thanksgiving is over, the Holiday Season is upon us! 🎁 Here are a two of my favorite gifting items this year.

Mantra Band A cute and trendy bangle bracelet that reminds you to be a “Warrior” or “Breathe”. I have one I wear all the time that reads : “She believed she could so she did”. What’s your mantra? Great for gifting your bestie to help her keep optimistic and positive. 👯

Use code: Blackfriday for 20% off and free shipping.

This is a perfect Treat Yo Self’ gift. Fred and Far Self Love Pinky Ring.. I love these lil rings so much and I love the message behind it. It comes with a lil card that comes with a pledge to love yourself. It’s a beautiful ring that has an upside down triangle lab created stone. You can choose from sterling silver, yellow gold, or rose gold. If you love yourself put a ring on it. This is my first holiday being single ..pretty much ever. This product is big on Self love and self worth which a lot of women struggle with.

They also have a sale going on. No promo code needed.

Love Me Some Philly

I have made several trips out to Philly over the past few years. It’s close to NYC and it is truly a Foodie’s Paradise.

I tried a new spot out this time and went for Sonny’s to get my Philly Cheese steaks

Old City Beergarden that stood out on the street with a cool outdoor seating area and bar to grab a cold one on a hot day. They provide giant checkers, and bean bag toss for you to entertain yourself with.

Fortina In YO

After eyeing Christian Petroni (chef and co-owner of Fortina’s) Instagram I was very happy to see a new location opening in Yonkers, NY (My hometown). It’s located in North Yonkers.. off North Broadway (behind the Apple Bees). They are revamping the area. A plush Blow is opening as well as a Taco Project..

Anyway, back to Fortina.. I was making dinner plans to head to the Stamford, CT location to get my fix. However, I received a last min invite to a soft opening in  Yonkers!!!! So best believe I was there..

They have Great parking! The building is super cool in an old industrial building. They did a great job on the inside. Lots of exposed brick and Grafitti/street art gives it a really hip vibe. You totally don’t feel like you are in Yonkers or in a Pizza restaurant. The servers and the staff are so attentive and friendly. I have yet to be in any other restaurant with such cool staff. It has a great open concept where you can see what is going on in the kitchen and bar area.

The food!! Their goal was for the food to taste as ahhhmazing at the other 3 locations and they have succeeded. The food is just as delicious as the other fabulous locations.

Wine and cocktails are top notch (same menu).

Pasta is perfectly al dente just how I like it!

Garlic bread is crusty and cheesy just how it should be with a side of Marinara.

The cannoli is stuffed with a surpirse (nutella). I find it to be much more heavenly tasting than the ones on Arthur Ave and Lil Italy.

Since it was the soft opening, the man himself Christian Petroni was there making the rounds. I got to chat him up a bit about his latest creation Fortina in Yonkers. He was giving us a rundown on the space and talking about the big garden that is going to be outside with a wood burning hearth. He has been a hard guy to get a hold of between this new project, the new Brooklyn location, and of course the birth of his first born child. He is such a great, friendly, and charismatic guy that you can’t help but want good things to happen for him.

Have you checked out Fortina in Yonkers yet ?!

They are officially open!

GIF Videobooth’s In NYC

Photo booth’s are a thing of the past. Let’s kick our selfie game up a  notch. The new trending thing recently are Video Booth’s (GIF)..so what’s better than taking your own 5-6 second mini video clip when you are out partying in the city.. You can easily type in your email address for you to have and share.

I first spotted the video booth when I was out to dinner this February at Vandal NYC. It is located in the bar lounge area. We found it after exploring the new space . The background is a perfect setting filled with graffiti covered walls.

Then I saw it again in Beauty and Essex’s Pawn shop. This background has guitars hanging on the walls. Click  for my movie clips. Me and my friends always get a kick out of it. You will get some people in the background wanting to photobomb you.

I hear Catch in the Meatpacking district has a video booth on their rooftop too! I have yet to check Catch out but it’s def on my summer to do list!

I’m all about it! I hope to see more restaurants/bars using this feature! It’s all about having fun and being silly with your friends. And you get to have a lil memory of your night.

A New Beginning

I am back to blogging after a little hiatus..I don’t typically get deep in my Blog Posts.. But I figured I would share a lil since the older I get the less igaf ..

I’m currently going through a divorce with my husband of almost 8 years .. People say that divorce is one of the hardest things you will ever go thru and I was skeptical but now I agree..

Right now I am working on my happiness as well as my daughter’s(my #1 Fan).. And I thought that a good way for me to get back to myself and get out of my current funk would be to start writing and blogging again about what makes me happy.. Food..Restaurants.. Cute Outfits.. and just doing dope things..

Positive Vibes only please..
