GIF Videobooth’s In NYC

Photo booth’s are a thing of the past. Let’s kick our selfie game up a  notch. The new trending thing recently are Video Booth’s (GIF)..so what’s better than taking your own 5-6 second mini video clip when you are out partying in the city.. You can easily type in your email address for you to have and share.

I first spotted the video booth when I was out to dinner this February at Vandal NYC. It is located in the bar lounge area. We found it after exploring the new space . The background is a perfect setting filled with graffiti covered walls.

Vandal , 199 Bowery  New York, NY 10002

Then I saw it again in Beauty and Essex’s Pawn shop. This background has guitars hanging on the walls. Click  for my movie clips. Me and my friends always get a kick out of it. You will get some people in the background wanting to photobomb you.

Beauty & Essex, 146 Essex St   New York, NY 10002

I hear Catch in the Meatpacking district has a video booth on their rooftop too! I have yet to check Catch out but it’s def on my summer to do list!

Catch,  199 9th ave   New York, NY 10014

I’m all about it! I hope to see more restaurants/bars using this feature! It’s all about having fun and being silly with your friends. And you get to have a lil memory of your night.

Sabbia at La Birreria in Eataly

Looking to get away to the Italian Coast without leaving NYC? Look no further than the beachy Sabbia  (means sand in English) located in Eataly. Follow the Parasols to the retractable rooftop bar/restaurant that is transformed to resemble the Mediterranean and Atlantic coast. This is a pop up restaurant around until October where Gelato carts, an oyster bar, and retractable roof set the mood in this upper scale eatery. Extensive beer, wine, and cocktail list. I went with a Rose Wine Spritzer along with Formaggi, you can choose 3 for $13 or 5 for $16 served with an apricot mostarda (sort of like a marmalade). Many dishes to choose from ..Seafood, Meat, and Vegetarian options all available. We started with The Gambaretti alla Bagnara seared shrimp, oregano, parsley, garlic, and lemon. I ordered the Tagliata DiManzo which was a grilled Wagyu bohemian steak with Arugula and Parmigiano Reggiano.  My date ordered the Polpa all Griglia, grilled octopus with cannellini beans!  After your meal you can shop in Eataly’s market. They conveniently are on Opentable for online reservations.

PinkNic #Ros’eAllDay

As soon as I saw this event being promoted I knew I wanted to be apart of it. Pink and White Mandatory clothing along with great music and bottles and bottles of Ros’e. Faaabuloussss!

The Pinknic Festival was located at Governor’s Island in NYC..After you depart the ferry it is a good 10-15 min walk from the ferry to the event. We purchased VIP tickets but I don’t think it was really necessary. We arrived fashionably late due to train construction..and we were unable to get a blanket which was provided first come, first serve. However, we did find a tabletop for us to eat and drink on.We brought our own lunch but there were picnic baskets for you to order made by Chef Chris Santos of Vandal and Beauty and Essex. They had several bands that I have never heard of before such as Miami Horror and Tortured Soul and they really rocked the place out and set the vibe. There was cotton candy and Ice cream vendors too.. We kept ourselves busy by checking out booths advertising Bermuda and giving out free Pink Sunglasses. We were playing bean bag toss with the Vida Loca girls..

Brunch at SandBox Cafe..Sizzlin Pancake is their specialty so of course I had  to try one . It’s a pancake baked in the oven for 25 minutes. I made mine with bananas, Nutella, walnuts and a swirl of cream cheese sprinkled with powdered sugar! It was like a mini freshly baked cake!

However, this summer I will be all about it.  A few of the locations are Tarry Lodge in Portchester ( Mario Batali’s place) Fortina’s Pizza Club in Stamford, CT, and  Red Hat on the River in Irvington.

Let’s Paint 🎨 and Drink Wine🍷

Looking to try something new for your next date night or girls night out?! Check out Muse Paint Bar in White Plains..or their new location at Ridge Hill in Yonkers. You can check out their calendar and choose a painting that you like, then reserve your spot (they also accept walk-ins if there is space available). It’s a cozy atmosphere with stools and tables splattered in paint. Grab a apron and a paintbrush then follow along with the art instructor to paint your masterpiece. Our instructor was very bubbly and fun to work with ..she alternated between giving instructions and playing music. She was also very helpful offering to take pictures of us and our art. They have a selection of wine and appetizers to choose from. I had a lot of fun and there wasn’t a dull movement (class moves pretty fast). I did a lot better than I thought I was going to do and now I have a piece of Art to display in my home. Great experience!  They also host private events and kid’s parties. Prices are $45 per person, however you can usually find coupon codes and specials on their Facebook page!

#WhatLiftsYou

Want a dope spot to take a pic in nyc  ?! Check out Kenmare and Mott St (Nola) where Kelsey Montague’s whimsical angel wings are on display. These wings represent positivity and Equality. Street Art with a positive message. For social media purposes #WhatLiftsYou and #EqualityLifts hashtags are used for you to post it up on Instagram and Twitter. The artist strongly encourages you to take pictures with the wings with theses hashtags to talk about the importance of Equality in your life. I love this message and I love these wings.

A Lil Summer Reading..

I have always been a big reader since I was little. It all started with Goosebumps by R.L Stine and The BabySitter’s Club. I would lock myself in my room for hours at a time to read. However, back then I had no responsibilities and life was less hectic. Lately, I haven’t been able to get into any books. My last great read was Gone Girl a few summers ago. I was worried my love of reading was fading…However, on my recent trip to Cabo I stopped at a airport book shop and picked up a book that seemed pretty interesting. The book was:

What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. I could not put the book down and I was eager to learn what happened next. The book was basically about a women who hit her head in a spin class and she woke up thinking it was ten years earlier. At that time she was happily married and pregnant. In reality it was 10 years later and she had 3 kids and going through a divorce.

After enjoying this book so much I went out to my local library and picked up another book by the same author

The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty.. yes I know the title may sound cheesy. However, it’s a very interesting read! It’s about a hypnotherapist whose new boyfriend has a stalker! The stalker is a crazy ex girlfriend but you can’t help but relate and feel for her character.

I’m looking forward to reading all of Liane Moriarty’s books

What books are you reading this summer ?

Summer BucketList

Summer is officially here!!👯👯Summer always flys by and I try to get in as many fun activities as possible! Here are some things I’m determined to make happen this Summer!

1. Roof Top Bars- What’s better than having a few drinks on a warm summer night?! I am hoping to check out some rooftop bars this summer! This is me in NYC at 230fifth rooftop Bar and Lounge. It has a gorgeous view and the drinks are super strong and yummy. Try. Pineapple coconut cocktail! (My fav)I am also looking to check out STK rooftop, and the Gansevoort!

2. Bike Riding in Governor’s Island- I recently watched Good Day New York with Greg Kelly and Rosanna Scotto. They did a segment where they were riding their bikes in Governor’s Island, and it made me want to check it out! Governors Island offers miles of car free biking. Bring your own bike or rent one from Blazing Saddles in Colonels Row. They offer Free Bike Mornings, borrow a free bike for up to one hour every Monday-Friday from 10 AM to noon.

3. State Fair at The Meadowlands- I love Fairs and Carnivals! I have been a thrill seeker since I was a child. I rode the cyclone with my dad when I was 4 years old! I have been saying every summer for years that I would attend this fair at the Meadowlands. Hopefully, this Summer I will make it happen!

4. Lounge in the pool with some cute floats. Donuts, swans, you name it I will lounge on it! They have really cute ones in Five and Below!

 5. Run my first marathon! I recently started training for my first marathon. I never ran in my life and I’m not a fan of the treadmill. However, I have set a goal to run a marathon this Summer! Hopefully I’m prepared by August!

What are some of the things on your summer BucketList?
