Tony at the J’s

The Lobby

Every year for my birthday I try to find a cool restaurant that has great food and ambiance. I came across Tony at the J’s in Greenwich , CT. It is located inside a boutique hotel in Greenwich. There is free valet parking. Reservations can be made on Opentable. Service is excellent and during our stay Tony himself came around asking trivia questions which made it fun! The garden area patio dining is gorgeous. Lush greenery everywhere 🌱 it makes you feel like you are on vacation. We started off with cocktails and then ordered scallops off of the specials. Our waitress called them decadent, and that was what they were they literally melted in your mouth. It came with a side of risotto in a Cream sauce that had me and my girls scraping the plate. For our entrees the three of us got The lobster 🦞 special. A 21/2 pound 🦞 in butter, oils, and herbs 🤤. We shared truffle fries 🍟 too! I would def go back I hear their steaks and pasta are also amazing.

I found this Nurse Jamie Age Delay Pillow on Khloe Kardashian’s website and it looks like a dream to sleep on! Super soft and it fights wrinkles !! I want it! Sleep is very important to me and I sleep on my tummy which is supposed to be no bueno! I can def see myself cuddling up to this at night.

Tis the Season for Gifting/Lounging

Holiday Season is upon us and I thought I would share a lil gift guide with some of my favorite things :)It’s always fun to make a wishlist so I decided to throw one together along with  my favorite stores. (These opinions are my own..)

It’s getting chilly outside so I’m all about being kept cute and cozy while I’m hibernating this Winter.

Panda Onesie from American Eagle.. My daughter and I are big fans of onesies..They are super cute and comfy to lounge in (and binge watch Netflix in)..I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it! Who doesn’t love Panda’s ?! Currently on Sale $52.46pandaonesie.png

Ugg Australia Dakota Slippers in Jester Red.. I love these slippers and I think they are a lil luxurious  and not something you would typically buy for yourself. (I asked my mom to get me these)You can also get them for the man in your life … Since they do come in men’s and Kid’s sizes.$99.95 slippersred

Blanket Scarf from Aerie.. I’m all about being cute and cozy this winter and I must say this is a trendy must have accessory for this holiday season! Here are a few ways to wear this look thanks to the aerie blog ! The chilly weather is kicking in here in NY and I’m excited to try this look!12317622_1115224435157412_1142826937_n(1)

I guess my theme of cute loungewear is going strong…with the Snowball Fleece Short Robe in Red from Victoria’s Secret. I thought this robe was adorable with the ears on the hood (I’m a sucker for the ears)! They only had a medium left in the stores and I gifted myself with it. Totally Radical 80’s Bash

I have always wanted to have a 80’s themed party. I love to dress up so I will find any excuse to. I usually travel for my birthday, but since this year I was going to be around I figured I would throw a party. I haven’t had a birthday party since I was a child! So, I scoured pinterest for ideas. I figured I would write a blog and share what I did for anyone out there wanting to throw a 80’s theme party! It was really fun! Everyone participated and dressed up which made it great!

1. 80’s Themed Cake: I figure if i’m going to have a party ..the cake has to be amazing..Cake is very important. I worked with Riviera Bakehouse in Ardsley. Cake was delicious buttercream and decorations were chocolate pieces. I’m not a big fan of fondant since it is very expensive and it does not taste very good! It had all the key things I wanted on it such as a MTV symbol, rollerskate,  rubik’s cube, and a boombox. The buttercream was neon green with black leopard stripes. I loved it and it tasted delicious too!

 2. Decorations: My hubby put together a giant rubik’s cube using a cardboard box. He taped black copy paper to it. Then added the multicolor copying paper to recreate the rubik’s cube. He’s very particular so it was lined up exactly how the original one was. Also I bought decorations from oriental trading. An inflatable boom box, neon disposable cutlery and cups that read I Love 80’s along with miniature Rubik’s cubes. Also, glow sticks were used.. I even found glow stick glasses and earrings! We also put cutouts on the wall that I purchased from Party City and we printed some out ourselves along with Pac Man cutouts we made. I thought the PacMan cutouts were the cutest (my daughter’s idea) and they were displayed around the house and up our stairway! (dots, pacman, and ghosts)

 3. Photo Booth: I love taking pictures and photo booths are a fun way to get everyone involved! I Purchased a cheap background from Walmart and some props. Voila! 80’s themed photo booth!

4. Games: We played Twister(mostly me and the kids), 80’s Trivial Pursuit, and 80’s HeadBands( I made up cards for).

 5. Candy: I ordered Personalized lollipops that were supposed to read Tara’s Totally Bitchin 80’s party but was later changed to Tara’s Totally Radical 80’s party due to the profanity (Gasp). Yes I have a potty mouth! Fun Dip, Candy Dots, Nerds, Push pops, and pop rocks were all put in a basket. Also, I threw in the candy cigarettes I felt kind of guilty but they were a big hit! I was a big fan of them when I was little so I had to get them. These were purchased at Five Below.. love that store!

6.Cupcakes: I love baking however it was hot and I didn’t want to be stuck baking on my birthday weekend. So I bought cupcakes from the supermarket with Princess Peach rings on them (I figured Mario Bros. were also 80’s). Then we printed tiny printouts of cassette tapes, Ghostbusters, I love 80’s, and rainbow bright. You can just tape or glue them onto toothpicks.

 7. Music: Of course you have to have 80’s music! We made our own playlist with my fav 80’s songs from artists like New Kids on The Block, Paula Abdul, Cyndi Lauper, New Edition, and Madonna.

My Totally Bitchin 80’s Outfit

Kickin it 80’s Style: So many options when dressing for the 80’s but this is what I went with!

Bright Pink Lipstick (Candy Yum Yum by MAC)

Purple Eyeshadow

neon yellow leggings (American Apparel)

Yellow Jellies (American Apparel) I remember those plastic shoes used to cut up my feet!

Neon Pink Ruffled skirt (H&M)

Black Bodysuit (American Apparel)

curly hair (Curling wand and Patience) Go Big Or Go Home! I used a Nume Curling wand and tried to curl my hair as close to the scalp as possible with a deep part! However it was humid and I was running around so it ended up looking wavy..

Fanny Pack (American Apparel) To make it stand out against my outfit I clashed colors with a cotton candy blue and pink fanny pack.

Fishnet gloves neon green and pink (Party City

New kids on the block button: I had that same button when I was younger just not quite as large ! Found this on EBay!

A few of my fav cocktails👯👯

I typically drink wine, but on a nice Summer night it’s always nice to have a cocktail.. or two.(But, who’s counting?)I also have a new found love for St Germain liquor. Cinco De Mayo

I enjoy celebrating Cinco De Mayo.. I love Margaritas and Mexican Food! I thought I would share with you my Shrimp Taco and Margarita recipe! I make this often cause it’s so yummy and easy ! 1lbs thawed frozen shrimp peeled 3 tbsp lime juice(fresh lime preferred) 5 cloves of minced garlic 1-2 tbsp Canola oil 2 tbsp of taco or chilli seasoning  1tbsp sofrito  Avocado or guacamole  Salsa  Corn or Flour Tortillas Heat 2 tbsp of canola oil in skillet Mix together shrimp, seasoning, sofrito, garlic, and lime juice Throw shrimp along with mixture in skillet on med-high heat and cook until shrimp is no longer pink (a few min) Remove shrimp and leave mixture in to simmer for a few minutes.
