Captain Lawrence Brewery

Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford, NY is stepping up their game with a brand spanking new beer hall and distillery. The new beer hall is much more spacious  than it’s prior warehouse quarters.

The distillery is not up and running yet. However, the new Beer Hall is in full swing. I am a big fan of Captain Lawrence Beer and I can be a bit of a beer snob. A few of my favs are Galactic Fog, Hylo, and Red Stars and Strikes.

There is a new menu. A wide range of food to enjoy. Anything from tacos, BBQ, wings, oysters, and truffle fries. The pizza is amazing! That dough tho…

They have always had a great Beer Garden that has outdoor seating along with bean bag toss (corn hole), boccee ball, and jenga.  There are tons of picnic tables so there is ample seating inside and out. They have trivia on Wednesday nights, and live music on the weekends. They also give 30 min tours on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm and 2:00pm for only $7 pp, $2 dollars for a tasting glass that you get to keep.

They are extremely kid/baby friendly, so you don’t have to worry about finding a sitter. I already brought Emma and we both met new friends. However, leave the puppies at home they are no longer pet friendly.

Before you leave you can also pick up a 6 pack of  a limited edition beer such as Cookie Puss Birthday Beer Milk Shake IPA or Soft Swerve for you to enjoy at home.

Unicorn Special🦄🦄

After seeing enough yummy instagram posts of this adorable looking icecream in a fish cone I caved. The Unicorn Special had my name written all over it (And I say I’m not Basic)!

I finally took the drive down there after eating at Beyond Sushi , another Fab place.

The place is Taiyaki, which is the name of the fish shaped cake that they put the ice cream in. The icecream is pretty basic yumminess but the fish cake was to die for. I was told the red bean makes it so yummy. It was soft and warm like a freshly baked cake. And that, paired with the icecream was amazing! I’m sure the line can get long..however I went on a weekday night.

SoJo SpaClub

After flooding the Instagram feed with my spa day pics I've had tons of people asking me about this new Spa that opened up in Edgewater, NJ.It was my birthday week so I decided to treat myself to a SpaDay

It's the first exit after crossing the George Washington Bridge. I made a big mistake in missing that exit!

You pull up to the place and they take your car and valet it..for free. A day pass to the spa on weekdays is $65 on the weekends it's $75. It has went up in price..I'm assuming due to popularity. I went on a Wednesday with my girlfriend. There wasn't much of a line and we quickly got in.

No outdoor food or drinks are permitted.

When you first enter u are given a locker to put your shoes in. No shoes are permitted inside. Outside only flipflops are permitted.

Then you get in the elevator and proceed to the real locker room where you get your robe (free) and another bigger locker to keep all your stuff. They have showers and changing rooms. I threw my bathing suit and robe on and explored the grounds..

It was a gorgeous day so we spent most of the time outside in the baths. There was a silk bath and a foot massage path to walk thru. Along with hot tubs, saunas and a infiniti pool with views to die for.

They have other services to purchase such as massages, facials and the typical Spa offerings. I did not partake this time… But next time I def will.

There is also a children's area for kids but there weren't any that day. You can bring children and I'm not sure how I really feel about that…

They have a water slide but it was closed that day. Total Bummer.

We had lunch in a cute lil dining area. There was a small selection on the menu. We ordered Burrata and a salad along with tea. No Alcohol is served or permitted. They also have a food court that serves Asian food, ice cream and burgers. They also have a smoothie bar.

Overall it was a fabulous day. The service was ahhmazing. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.

I def enjoyed this place and will be back before the cold weather hits so I can take a trip down that slide!

All these opinions are my own. I do not get paid to write this.

SoFarSounds

I recently met a verrry cool person and she put me on to SoFarSounds. She told me she signed up for tickets to a secret music show in a secret garden in NYC. It Sounded Dope to me ..so I told her I was down.

She ended up getting two tickets and I'm very glad she did..

It was a gorgeous summer day in July and we got cool seats sitting on a wooden tree bench in a garden of a Church. The show was BYOB and we came prepared with two bottles of Ros'e. Lush Life.

There was three performers and they were all amazing.

Silvina Moreno from Argentina who sang in both Spanish and English and had a funky lil instrument that she played.

Adam  Ahuja was the second performer who played the keyboard and crooned so beautifully that he ended up on my IG story with heart eyes emoji's. How old am I again ?! Move over Justin Timberlake…He used audience participation to create a song that day which I thought was pretty Ahhmazing.

The last performer was Madison Mcferrin who sang very soulfully and had the whole audience nodding and swaying to her vibe.

After leaving this mini concert I wanted to buy all of their CD's and follow them all on Spotify.

Wanna check this out and try to get lucky and get tickets to these secret concerts check out SofarSound. They are all over the city and Brooklyn. FYI They do not tell you the exact location or details unless you get tickets to attend.

Milk & Cream Cereal Bar🍦

With the warmer weather slowly approaching NY..I’m starting to crave icecream 🍦 However, this time I wanted to try something different. Torn between soft serve and rolled ice cream 🍦 I figured I would check out a new spot. Milk and Cream Cereal Bar. Here they combine your favorite cereals with icecream. There are instructions on how to order. I had a very hard time making my final decision and it seemed a lot of other people did too! I settled on cookie dough icecream mixed with captain crunch topped with Reese’s pieces and caramel in a birthday cake cone! Yum 👅 Absolutely 😋 Delicious ! They also have specials up with their own concoctions.

They are located at 159 Mott St New York, New York.

Sabbia at La Birreria in Eataly

Looking to get away to the Italian Coast without leaving NYC? Look no further than the beachy Sabbia  (means sand in English) located in Eataly. Follow the Parasols to the retractable rooftop bar/restaurant that is transformed to resemble the Mediterranean and Atlantic coast. This is a pop up restaurant around until October where Gelato carts, an oyster bar, and retractable roof set the mood in this upper scale eatery. Extensive beer, wine, and cocktail list. I went with a Rose Wine Spritzer along with Formaggi, you can choose 3 for $13 or 5 for $16 served with an apricot mostarda (sort of like a marmalade). Many dishes to choose from ..Seafood, Meat, and Vegetarian options all available. We started with The Gambaretti alla Bagnara seared shrimp, oregano, parsley, garlic, and lemon. I ordered the Tagliata DiManzo which was a grilled Wagyu bohemian steak with Arugula and Parmigiano Reggiano.  My date ordered the Polpa all Griglia, grilled octopus with cannellini beans!  After your meal you can shop in Eataly’s market. They conveniently are on Opentable for online reservations.

PinkNic #Ros’eAllDay

As soon as I saw this event being promoted I knew I wanted to be apart of it. Pink and White Mandatory clothing along with great music and bottles and bottles of Ros’e. Faaabuloussss!

The Pinknic Festival was located at Governor’s Island in NYC..After you depart the ferry it is a good 10-15 min walk from the ferry to the event. We purchased VIP tickets but I don’t think it was really necessary. We arrived fashionably late due to train construction..and we were unable to get a blanket which was provided first come, first serve. However, we did find a tabletop for us to eat and drink on.We brought our own lunch but there were picnic baskets for you to order made by Chef Chris Santos of Vandal and Beauty and Essex. They had several bands that I have never heard of before such as Miami Horror and Tortured Soul and they really rocked the place out and set the vibe. There was cotton candy and Ice cream vendors too.. We kept ourselves busy by checking out booths advertising Bermuda and giving out free Pink Sunglasses. We were playing bean bag toss with the Vida Loca girls..
