Fancy AF Brunch

I recently had the pleasure of having brunch at the famous Tavern on the Green. I have always heard about this place but never thought of actually going. I was u fee the impression that it was ridiculously priced and for the rich and snooty. However, I was invited and was pleasantly surprised. It is located inside Central Park, extremely easy to find. The place was magical. There was a man with a top hat at the front door. We had reservations, but we’re still asked to sit in the bar/lounge area. Which I was very happy to do since it was a gorgeous area with chandeliers and a very old school 1930”s vibe to it. I ordered a Bloody Mary and took in the scenery. I like to people watch, especially in NYC. There were quite a few tourists which was not a surprise. Also, a lot of families with younger children. We were then seated to the main dining area that was a big difference from the bar/lounge area. It was brighter and my eyes had to adjust. It felt like I just walked into heaven. The service was amazing. Our waiter was extremely cool and down to earth. He gave us recommendations and says their burger was the best. However I already peeped the menu before arriving and had my heart set on steak and eggs. My typical brunch go to. For appetizer we had shrimp cocktail that were huge. The steak was amazing and cooked a perfect medium. Instead of dessert we got more drinks. The bloody Mary’s were amazing(spicy and with a few olives). The dining area is open and has windows with a view to the park. Horse and carriages were strolling by as we are. I couldent help but think how gorgeous this place would be

Christmas time.

Before I left I had to check out the gift shop. Because I’m still a child. I got the cutest Christmas ornament with the famous sheep on it. Tavern on the Green started as a sheep barn back in the 19th century.

Captain Lawrence Brewery

Captain Lawrence Brewery in Elmsford, NY is stepping up their game with a brand spanking new beer hall and distillery. The new beer hall is much more spacious  than it’s prior warehouse quarters.

The distillery is not up and running yet. However, the new Beer Hall is in full swing. I am a big fan of Captain Lawrence Beer and I can be a bit of a beer snob. A few of my favs are Galactic Fog, Hylo, and Red Stars and Strikes.

There is a new menu. A wide range of food to enjoy. Anything from tacos, BBQ, wings, oysters, and truffle fries. The pizza is amazing! That dough tho…

They have always had a great Beer Garden that has outdoor seating along with bean bag toss (corn hole), boccee ball, and jenga.  There are tons of picnic tables so there is ample seating inside and out. They have trivia on Wednesday nights, and live music on the weekends. They also give 30 min tours on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm and 2:00pm for only $7 pp, $2 dollars for a tasting glass that you get to keep.

They are extremely kid/baby friendly, so you don’t have to worry about finding a sitter. I already brought Emma and we both met new friends. However, leave the puppies at home they are no longer pet friendly.

Before you leave you can also pick up a 6 pack of  a limited edition beer such as Cookie Puss Birthday Beer Milk Shake IPA or Soft Swerve for you to enjoy at home.

Re:fresh Beauty Bar

I recently moved to Elmsford this May, and I spotted a cute Lil shop with a pink neon sign through the window. What can I say, Cute neon signs get my attention. I googled their name Re:fresh Beauty Bar and I assumed it was a blow dry bar. (Not that a blow dry bar wouldn’t be great right down the street from my apartment). However, they did offer other services like eyebrow shaping and tinting along with popular nowadays thanks to Kylie Jenner and many other celebrities

After I had Emma I felt I needed a little pick me up.  I went in to get my eyebrows shaped and tinted since I hadn’t touched them in months. After I left I felt like a new woman.

This place is extremely cute. It is modern and very girly. There are two extremely talented and friendly girls who own and work there. Roxanne specializes in brows and is a Licensed Esthetician and Danielle who is a RN and a certified cosmetic injector, does the fat sculpting for unsightly cellulite and injectable’s. Volbella is also a great filler for your under eye area and lips to give it a subtle pout.

You can make reservations on vagaro.

Wolf & Warrior Brewing

wolf1               wolf

Wolf and Warrior Brewing  located right off Mamaroneck Ave near the WP bar scene. Nice spacious location  with plenty of seating and games to keep you entertained. (I recently became obsessed with Jenga)

Staff was super friendly and took the time to talk to us about their beer and their new location.

They were out of their cider at that time which I was a lil bummed about. They will be getting more beers on tap in the near future.

All beer is brewed on premises.

They also serve food for you to munch on.

They serve farm to table food. No wait staff so you order at the bar.

They do flights were you choose 5 beers to try. My favorite was the Patagonia-Argentinian Blonde Ale (I’m a fan of blonde’s).

Gitano NYC

Gitano in NYC is a pop up restaurant inspired by Gitano Tulum in Mexico. Their idea was to bring the Tulum Jungle to the Concrete Jungle of NYC.

Make reservations via OpenTable or else you will have a long wait to even get in the place!

When I stepped inside Gitano I felt like I was on vacation. I was surrounded by lush palm trees 🌴 and beautiful people.

We sat by the bar which has a big disco bar at the center of it.

Cocktails 🍹

We ordered the:

Jungle Fever 😝 consists of Gem and Bolt, chili, lime, and cilantro. It had a great kick to it. 🌶

Gitano Margarita Montelobos, lime, cucumber, and rosemary. It was very refreshing. 🥒

Food

We ordered the Guacamole which was very tasty and fresh.

The special of the night was Carne Asada. It was extremely tasty 🥩 with chimichurri sauce and shishito peppers 🌶

There are several seating areas spread throughout the restaurant and garden area where you can sit, drink, and lounge. It starts getting very loungey in the evening. Lots of people hanging out and sipping on cocktails.

RoseHair Don’tCare

I’ve been wanting to hop on the rose gold color hair trend for a while now..

I found Kristen Ess’s ( Celebrity hair stylist) rose gold temporary tint. She has a whole hair care line that is getting super popular. The spray is at Target and it’s like $12.00 a bottle.

So I figured what do I have to lose. I don’t have to go to work and look “professional” for another month.

How it works :

Hop in the shower.. shampoo hair then squeeze out excess water like a sponge then spray hair wherever and however you want the roseness to show.

Go easy the first time. Shampoo hair then condition. Style as usual.

Ta-Daaaaa Rose Gold Hair

FYI only works with prelightened or highlighted blonde hair.

Rooms are inspired by actual dreams. But, have you ever dreamed of eating cotton candy in a laundry mat I kno I haven’t. However, this place is what instagram stories are made of. Bring someone patient enough to take pictures. Staff is very friendly and gave us as much time as we needed in each room.placeholder://placeholder://

Pregnant and Fab?

FYI:

Here’s a personal, emotional post ..

26 weeks pregnant 🤰 And Single …

Not too many people talk about this ..but it happens ..quite often.

1 in 4 children under the age of 18 are being raised without a father. 4 out of 10 children are born to unwed mothers.

But what’s a girl to do ..feel ashamed .. conceal my bump ..

Maybe Wear a fake wedding band while pretending my “husband” is thrilled that I’m carrying his lil girl .. when inquiring minds ask (like my 80 year old patients)

No I’m pregnant and I’m Single..

did I plan this .. No

Is the father thrilled ..No quite the contrary

Am I going to doctors appointments and ultrasounds alone.. yes

However, I’m thrilled ..scared but thrilled . Being pregnant And carrying a child is a blessing and not every women can do it.

I have my days, I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and think to myself what the hell was I thinking getting myself into this.

And, i have had people questioning me as why I did not decide to terminate it, since I’m not in the ideal situation. (Including the dad)

Is it tough ..of course

And a lot of times I act braver than I actually am.

But, it’s fine and it’s normal for my emotions to be all over the place .

But in a few months I’ll have a beautiful baby girl to hold, and nothing else will matter.
